The VSP  or Volunteer Sanctuary Pool is a network of residents within one county that pools together in order to save dogs from the streets and rescue them from the Urgent Placement lists at their local shelters. The Alliance also serves as a network to stay informed on dogs that are meeting their deadlines at community shelters, as well as dogs that have been lost or found. By joining the VSP, you are joining a club where members support each other. Pause For Paws staff, which are volunteers within this alliance, generate fundraisers, coordinate food drives, and identify programs where medical help for your dog may be acquired. The animal welfare crisis is a community problem that calls for a community solution. That is a call that the Alliance will answer. YOU ARE THE VSP ALLIANCE! - ALLY UP!

The Alliance is completely free to join. No fees, no commitments, no adoptions or fostering required. 

If you would like to adopt or foster a dog, sign up as a Volunteer Sanctuary Owner or a VSO. When you choose this option, we will communicate with you about what type of friend you would like to adopt or foster. We will then search our network and match you to your new best friend.

Simply join as a supporter if you would like. Stay informed when a dog goes missing. Be engaged when local shelters need help with events. Share the stories. Watch your alliance grow. Donate if you can. Volunteer if you want. Or just choose to stay informed. Remember, the bigger the alliance, the more dogs that are saved.

Have the alliance be there for you in case your best friend needs medical treatment or has gone missing. By joining this alliance, you are simply signing up with a community that will have you and your dog's backs.

Once you are part of our alliance, we want you to know that we do not require you to be public with your pet. However, when adopting or fostering through us, just like adopting or fostering through a traditional shelter, there will be a vetting process. But once you and your new best friend are together, we respect your privacy. Having said this, we appreciate all the cute and loving puppy pics you can send us for our social media or our website, so that we may continue to spread good vibes and share the fun within the alliance to the public.
